This course is part of the ‘Tekla Structures Steel Fundamentals’ learning path, which is an interactive certification involving the completion of this self-paced learning course, followed by the completion of the ‘Steel Fundamentals Certification’ course which includes a modelling exam. Learners are required to complete the 'Steel Fundamentals Certification' course following completion of this one in order to receive the full certification.
Through the completion of this course, this learner has consumed tutorials covering:
- The Tekla Structures user interface - how to open Tekla Structures and Tekla Structures models, use the ribbon, navigate in the model, create views, and use clip planes
- How to start a Tekla Structures project and how to set up project-specific information.
- How to model the basic steel structure of a building, including steel columns, beams, rafters and bracing
- How to use system components in Tekla Structures, including base plates and connections.
- What custom components are and how to create and modify custom components.
- How to detect and fix clashes in Tekla Structures
- What numbering means, and how to plan the numbering of a project
- How drawings work in Tekla Structures - how drawings and the model interact with each other, how drawing types and drawing levels work and how to use the master drawing catalog, create drawings and edit drawings manually.
- Reports and how to create different kinds of reports including bolt list, material list, assembly list and a report based on part phases.
- How to share a model for collaboration purposes using Trimble Connect
- NC files and how to create these in DSTV format
The total duration of all tutorials in this course is 4 hours and 40 minutes. It is expected to have taken this learner approximately 8 hours to follow all of the tutorials and complete the activities that make up this eLearning course. This learner can now progress to take the 'Steel Fundamentals Certification'.
