Concrete Contractor Modeling Assignment

This course is part of the ‘Tekla Structures for Concrete Contractors’ learning path, which is an interactive certification involving firstly the completion of the 'Tekla Structures for Concrete Contractors' course - a self-paced eLearning course that contains 27 lessons - followed by completion of this course. In order to pass this course, and attain the overall 'Tekla Structures for Concrete Contractors Certification', learners must successfully complete a modelling exam.

Through the completion of this certification, this learner has demonstrated their understanding of:

- The basic elements of the Tekla Structures user interface.

- How to open Tekla Structures and Tekla Structures models, use the ribbon, navigate in the model, create views, and use clip planes.

- How to create a new model, define project properties, and how to create and modify grids.

- Basic modelling guidelines about the different settings in Tekla Structures: project and firm folders, model templates, and customizing Tekla Structures.

- How to estimate, plan, and manage pours with Tekla Structures

- What Tekla Structures objects are, how to create views, and how to control the visibility of different objects in views.

- How to work with Object Browser.

- Managing model information with Organizer, including how to use Organizer categories, how to view selected objects in the model, and how to import and export categories, as well as how to create and modify templates in Organizer.

- How to create concrete parts and sloping slabs.

- How pour units are created, and how to calculate the volume of pour units.

- How to use Organizer to manage pour objects in the model, and how to use pour numbers to identify different pours.

- What are embeds in Tekla Structures, how to place them in a model, and how to create embeds.

- How to convert concrete geometries from an existing IFC model into native Tekla Structures parts.

- How to model formwork with Tekla Structures and how to use formwork placing tools for walls and slabs, and how to export formwork reports to Microsoft Excel.

- How to create drawings based on model views, and the basics on modifying drawings: How to create dimension lines, marks, and section views.

- How to export a file from Tekla Structures in IFC 4 format, and how to upload it to Trimble Connect.

It is expected to have taken this learner approximately 8 hours to follow all tutorials in the 'Tekla Structures for Concrete Contractors' course, with a further 2 hours invested in this modelling assignment to complete this certification.
