Tekla Structures Fundamental Certification Program (ATC)

The Tekla Fundamental Certification Program, organized by Trimble SEA, is designed specifically for university students focusing on Tekla Structures. 

Students are required to complete graded assessments after attending the course lectures on Tekla BIM software. The lectures provide a foundational understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM). Students will be able to gain hands-on experience with the core features and configurations of Tekla software where they can develop fundamental skills in creating 3D models, and generating manufacturing details with Tekla Structures.

This certification not only enhances career opportunities but also strengthens credibility within the engineering and construction industries.

Certification Details

Fundamental Level: Validates foundational knowledge and basic proficiency in Tekla Structures, focusing on essential modeling skills, software navigation, and creating constructible models. It is meant for beginners or those new to structural modeling.

Training Grounds: Appointed Authorized Training Centre (ATC) or Trimble premises.

Learning Objectives

• Understand the evolution of BIM and its significance in the construction industry.

• Navigate the Tekla Structures interface effectively.

• Utilize the coordinate systems in Tekla Structures for model manipulation.

• Create and modify basic structural elements in Tekla Structures.

• Apply basic modeling techniques to manipulate objects.

• Understand the integration with other analysis and design applications.

• Create and manage bolts, welds, and reinforcement in Tekla Structures.

• Generate and manage various types of drawings within Tekla Structures.

• Import, export, and manage reference models and export models for collaboration.

Assessment and Certification

To earn the this Certification, participants must pass the certification examination with a minimum score of 75%.

Grading Criteria:

90 - 100 marks ➔ DISTINCTION [Proficiency: Higher] ✅Digital credential

85 - 89 marks ➔ EXCELLENT [Proficiency: Above Average] ✅Digital credential

75 - 84 marks ➔ MERIT [Proficiency: Moderate] ✅Digital credential

The examination can be taken online or at a designated physical venue, depending on the arrangements made for the scheduled session. It consists of:

✔ Theory test – Multiple choice questions cover a broad range of topics relevant to Tekla Structures.

✔ Practical test – Features task-based assessments that evaluate the participant's ability to apply their knowledge.

Each question requires you to perform a specific task within Tekla Structures.
