The 'Modeling' course is one module that makes up the wider learning path for the 'Tekla Structural Designer Fundamentals' elearning course. This course comprises of several lessons, each of an interactive nature and including a variety of learning activities and quizzes.
Through completing this course, this learner is now comfortable modeling in Tekla Structural Designer and is able to use the software confidently to create their own models.
Through completion of the course, learners now have an understanding of:
You will initially learn about Building a Physical, Analytical, and Design model in a single project file.
You will then learn about Global and Model Settings, Material Databases, and how to create templates to speed up your initial model creation.
You will follow Task Instructions to construct the model, working through separate lessons to learn about and create Walls, Columns, Beams, Trusses, and Slabs, including openings and overhangs.
Time-saving features and commands are introduced, with lessons covering "Property Sets," "Edit tab - Copy, Move, Mirror, and Rationalize," "Infill Beams," and "Planarize."
A lesson on "Cantilever beams, including releases" introduces you to local and global mechanisms and how to define releases in your models correctly.
You will learn how to create Wall and Roof Panels to aid loading placement later in the course, add stability bracing, and perform model validation to correct potential issues before submitting the model for analysis or design.
This course is expected to have taken the learner 9 hours to complete, with the requirement to successfully pass a test at the end of this course in order to attain their digital credential.
