This interactive eLearning course is part of the Tekla Structures Steel Fundamentals learning path. This course consists of tutorials that you can take in any order. If you wish to model along, we suggest you follow the suggested order of the course.
The tutorials use the Default environment. The course is in English. We recommend using Tekla Structures 2021 or later for Businesses, for Partners or for Students. You can download the software and find information about getting a license from https://download.tekla.com/
After completing the eLearning tutorials, you can test your skills by completing a modeling assignment and answering test questions to receive a course certificate.
On this course you will learn
- The basic elements of the Tekla Structures user interface. Learn how to open Tekla Structures and Tekla Structures models, use the ribbon, navigate in the model, create views, and use clip planes.
- Learn how to get started with a new Tekla Structures project and how to set up project-specific information.
- Learn to model the basic steel structure of a building, including steel columns, beams, rafters and bracing,
- Learn how to use system components in Tekla Structures, including base plates and connections.
- Learn what custom components are and how to create and modify custom components.
- Learn how to detect and fix clashes in Tekla Structures using the clash check manager.
- Learn what numbering means, and how to plan the numbering of your project.
- Find out how drawings work in Tekla Structures. Learn about the basic principles: how drawings and the model interact with each other, and how drawing types and drawing levels work. You will also learn how to use the master drawing catalog, create drawings and how to edit drawings manually.
- Learn about reports in general, and how to create different kinds of reports. Learn how to create a bolt list, material list, assembly list, and a report based on part phases.
- Learn how you can share the model for collaboration purposes using Trimble Connect.
- Learn about NC (numerical control) files. Learn about NC files in general, and how to create NC files in DSTV format#
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a digital credential, issued by a third party. By enrolling to, and completing, this course, you are agreeing to the sharing of your email, first name and last name with the credential provider.
